It was a beautiful day today and I had an opportunity to see how Paisano was with shafts. We did a bit of work in the arena, then went outside where the light is better. After a bit of warmup, we tried again. He was great; could have cared less. The ends were just resting in the tugs, so they would have come loose if we had any problems. Besides the fact that he likes to chew the bit a lot, I was very happy with him. Even when the young stallion in the turnout nearby was galloping around, Paisano was all business.

I am serious looking for a local trainer or mentor to take the next steps toward hitching to a cart.

Many thanks to Ardas for taking the photos and assisting.
